A journey through time to discover treasures and traditions. Citerna stands on the green Umbrian hills with its ancient medieval walls, unique among the villages of central Italy for its characteristic architectural structure on two levels: the village, with its alleys, monuments and panoramic viewpoints, and the underground with its underground walkways and cisterns for collecting water, which allowed the inhabitants of the village to have resources for long periods. Our tour departs from Citta di Castello, following exclusively cycle paths and rural roads of the Altotiberina plain, and then climbs with moderate gradients up to the walls of Citerna, where we will leave our bikes for an interesting visit on foot to discover the hidden paths of the ancient village.
