The Franciscan Convent of the Scarzuola was founded by St Francis of Assisi in 1218, who planted a laurel bush and a rose bush here, causing a spring of water to spring up. It owes its name to a marsh plant, the Scarza, which the saint used to build himself a hut. The spring has never ceased to nourish the sacred place with its water, a fountain of living water in the forest towards the rising of the sun that the Holy Father Francis prayed for. The church 'Sancte Marie loci fratrum minorum de Scarciola', originally consisting of a simple rectangular hall covered by a slightly pointed barrel vault, has been profoundly modified over the centuries. The apse of the church houses a fresco from the first half of the 13th century depicting St Francis in levitation.

Departure from Paciano for Panicale, where it is possible to visit the Collegiate Church of San Michele Arcangelo, named after the town's patron saint and probably of Lombard origin: inside is preserved, in the last chapel on the left, an Adoration of the Shepherds, an altarpiece dating from 1519 and evidence of the artistic maturity of the painter Giovanni Battista Caporali. At the Church of San Sebastiano, just outside the walls, there is a masterpiece by Perugino: the fresco Il Martirio di San Sebastiano (The Martyrdom of St Sebastian) from 1505: here again it is the lake water that dominates the panorama.
Tasting at a farm with an accompanied walking tour to explore the typical cultivations, vineyards, olive groves and to learn about the Fagiolina del Trasimeno, a very ancient legume from this area that has become a Slow Food presidium.
