Umbria Danza Festival 2026
From 11 to 21 June, Perugia hosts the Umbria Danza Festival, ten days of contemporary dance spread across some of the city's most distinctive venues: from the Complesso Monumentale di Sant'Anna to the Orto Medievale, from the new Arena di Borgo Bello to the Galleria Nazionale dell'Umbria, taking in Piazza IV Novembre, the Terrazza del Mercato Coperto, Piazza Birago and the neighbourhoods of Ponte San Giovanni, Fontivegge and Pila.
The programme features 32 performances, 20 companies including 4 international ones, 16 national premieres and first showings, 3 touring projects and 10 masterclasses. The festival brings together established names and emerging talents in a programme that inhabits the city's public and historic spaces.
This year's edition takes time as its central theme — what we lose, what we chase, what we choose to truly live. The works on the programme explore these dimensions through different choreographic languages, placing the contemporary dance scene in dialogue with the architectural and cultural heritage of Umbria.
