The Fattoria Didattica La Badia is located near the Tiber river a few kilometres from the centre of Marsciano. Located in the countryside between Todi and Perugia, at Ammeto, the Fattoria Didattica "La Badia" is in the context of the Azienda Agraria San Sigismondo belonging to the Sovereign Military Order of Malta. The building that houses the farm dates back to the 1800s, and has been completely renovated according to the classic agricultural typology to offer a warm and familiar welcome to its guests. The Fattoria Didattica La Badia was born out of the need for direct communication between farmers and citizens large and small. It makes it possible to emphasise the importance and social role of agriculture and create interest in the environment and agricultural activity. It is a true environmental and food education centre available to schools, organised groups and families. On the farm, children can discover and touch many new things they have only seen in books, they can learn about different lifestyles through concrete and stimulating experiences, they can also play and have fun in a serene environment far from smog and city traffic, and finally discover the importance of tradition, ancient crafts and contact with nature through original and creative play and educational paths.

The didactic farm is therefore an interactive experience in the agricultural and natural world during which adults and children can have fun learning about the farm animals, with the "let's recognise the animals route" to discover the two-legged and four-legged inhabitants of the farm, to learn about their habits and their most peculiar aspects.

Or move around the vegetable garden through the "pathway to discover the treasures of the Earth" to get to know all the products of the earth: tomatoes, aubergines, courgettes, salad and to give directions for making a city vegetable garden, i.e. recreating a small vegetable garden in the home to enjoy healthy food on one's table.

"Sensory paths among fragrant herbs": an educational workshop for learning about plants and medicinal and aromatic herbs and their uses. The farm's garden lends itself particularly well to sensory paths, thanks to the richness and variety of olfactory, tactile, chromatic, food and visual stimuli of the plants present.

"Rainbow of flowers paths": children are taught to create wonderful paintings using herbs and flowers as markers and pencils, and to make fascinating floral paper sheets by reusing the sheets of paper put away by the children and together with the flowers collected during the day.

"Routes through fruit trees, vineyards and olive groves": in the vineyard to learn about cultivation techniques and discover how to obtain a beautiful bunch of grapes and a glass of good wine, and to discover the life cycle of the olive tree and cultivation techniques
