Città Della Pieve, an Etruscan-Roman centre, became the powerful 'Castrum Plebis' in the 7th century. Outside the city walls are the church of Sant'Agostino, the church of San Francesco, now the Sanctuary of the Madonna of Fatima, the church of Santa Maria dei Servi, with Perugino's fresco depicting the 'Deposition from the Cross', and the church of Santa Lucia. The museum route, which leads from the Oratory of Santa Maria dei Bianchi to the "Spazio Kossuth" Art Collection set up in the storage rooms of the Bishop's Palace, passes through the 16th-century Palazzo della Corgna.
