The children will have the opportunity to learn about the different types of tomatoes and how they can be present on our table.
Learning objectives
-know the different types of tomatoes-know the life cycle of the tomato: from sowing to tasting
-learn where it is mainly grown- learn about the product through the use of the five senses
-learn the different techniques for preserving tomatoes
Description of the stages:
-identify the different types of tomatoes and where they are grown-identify the different tomato preservation techniques
-making tomato puree
Timing and tools of the topics:
-welcome: quick illustration of the farm and identification of each child present (30')
-examination of the tomato: from sowing to preservation (1-2 h)
-realization of tomato puree: classic tomato preservation (2h)
-final farewell: the children will be bid farewell by the operators with a small gift and the object they created (15'), which can be arranged over half or full day
Methods:
After a lesson on tomatoes, the children will be guided in the making of real passata so that they can then enjoy it with a good pasta dish!
