"Gigiotto" has always been in the city and beyond, synonymous with excellent catering.Gigiotto's history starts with Luigi Angeli, in 1891, with an osteria that also served hot dishes, including coratella, omelette with coratella, and cotiche con i fagioli (pork rinds with beans). The transformation into a restaurant took place with Antonio Angeli.Luigi (Antonio's son), and Angelo (Luigi's son) at the beginning of the Second World War also added the hotel business. This is where the real turning point came, the name Gigiotto appears in all the great guides of the time.In the 1950s Angelo continued his story as a great cook famous for his great talent behind the cooker.Famous in the period between the 1970s and 1980s was his friendship with Luigi Veronelli, who lavished him with great praise in his guide to Italy's best restaurants, extolling his cuisine and his wine cellar. His first comment on Angelo in the Veronelli guide was "I've never seen a better cook, I recommend everything about him. "Angelo" Gigiotto" remained at the helm until the 1990s, leaving the hotel-restaurant to his children Antonio and Concetta, who continued with equal passion until 2001, when they were forced to close the business due to severe earthquake damage. Now, after renovations, Gigiotto's business has restarted under the name GG8 with the current generation of Angeli, Gabriele and Giordano.
